Zombieland (Not so bad comedy) good 7 of 10

I must admit that this review is going to be a little bias solely because I didn't want to see the movie in the first place. Out with a group of friends, and with nothing really showing...we decided to see something funny. I don't like horror movies at all, so I expected the worst; graphic gorely and pointless brutality as each individual character's screams until their last breath, with an global slow unfolding doom destined for exact all but the last two lead actors. This wasn't the case at all; Each character survived...and it was more of a comical tutorial on how to survive a zombie attack with a small teenage romantic twist; I must say teenage, because the movie should have been PG-13 solely based on plot, actor choices, lead character's romantic interest but the generally older crowds can enjoy as well, since the genre itself has come and gone. Younger crowds won't exactly get the references mentioned in the movies; for example there is a 10 minute Ghostbuster reenactment scene that plays off the original scene that older crowds will enjoy. Overall, I give it a good 7 of 10; as a good see in free time when the movie you want isn't showing and you get in for free because the receptionist went to the rest room. Only case scenario.
